Brøchner Hotels unveils new suites in former Carlsberg production site

Brøchner Hotels has unveiled Ottilia Heritage, a new collection of suites set to open within Hotel Ottilia.

Located in Copenhagen’s historic Carlsberg City District, the 14 new suites are set within a restored 1881 Carlsberg landmark – the building that once stored malted barley used to make the beer – with their design blending industrial history and contemporary luxury. The creative minds behind the new additions are Mette Fredskild Studio and Morten Hedegaard.

The original vaulted ceilings, arched windows and historic steel structures remain integral elements of the design, while custom-crafted furnishings – featuring signature Douglas wood sourced from the original building – add a tactile connection to the past. Industrial steel, raw concrete and artistic mirrored surfaces reflect the essence of the building’s legacy, while curated contemporary elements elevate the experience.

As a tribute to Carlsberg’s legacy, Ottilia Heritage is home to three signature suites, each designed to honour a defining architectural or historical element of Carlsberg’s past. The Heritage Suites celebrate the industrial grandeur of the original building, the Silo Suites feature the preserved malt silos as a striking architectural centerpiece, and the Elephant Suite offers view of the Elephant Gate, one of Carlsberg’s famed landmarks.
