CitizenM Dublin St Patrick’s has officially opened, marking the brand’s debut in Ireland.

Located opposite St. Patrick’s Cathedral in the Liberties neighbourhood, the 245-guestroom hotel is set within a Brutalist building by Irish architect Sam Stephenson that has been revitalised by CitizenM’s creative team.

CitizenM’s signature, art-centric style has been realised through a collaboration with the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA). Each guestroom features bespoke diptychs by one of five Irish artists, curated by IMMA’s Head of Programming, Mary Cremin. From dreamy digital collages to cyanotype portraits and stitched-ribbon photography, all of the pieces are Irish, playful and exclusive to CitizenM.

The hotel’s exterior also acts as a gallery, featuring a bronze-cast lyric by Dublin rapper Malaki, from his track Cuppa Tea. On the back, a vivid new mural by Claire Prouvost, has been painted directly onto Stephenson’s preserved wall as a vibrant tribute to the city’s energy, culture and creativity.

Public spaces range from a contemporary living room, 24/7 canteenM and open-air terrace, as well as four society meeting rooms, which are open to the public and geared towards creatives, start-ups and team sessions.

With a global portfolio across 21 cities including Amsterdam, London, Paris and New York, the opening of the CitizenM’s first Irish outpost comes after it was revealed that Marriott International is set to acquire the brand later this year.

Commenting on the $355 million deal, founder and Chairman Rattan Chadha says: “We are very excited about our agreement with Marriott and look forward to this pivotal next step for our future growth.
