DoubleTree by Hilton opens first property in Ireland
The transformation of the property, which has re-opened under a franchise agreement between Hilton Worldwide and Martinez Hotels & Resorts, has seen the hotel’s 138 rooms and suites completely re-designed with a brand new concept centred on music and sound.
Overseen by Dublin-based architects Nikki O’Donnell, The Morrison Dublin, a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, features a new look incorporating lyrics from nearly 30 Irish songwriters and the work of a dozen Irish artists. Each individual guestroom is adorned with a line from songs made famous by local acts ranging from The Script to Paul Brady.
“We set out with a very ambitious timeline for this project so we’re delighted to be opening the hotel on schedule and with the support of our new partners, Hilton Worldwide,” said Stephen Mulligan, UK & Ireland director for Martinez Hotels & Resorts.
“The refurbishment coincides with a busier than normal event calendar for Ireland this year, and we believe the reopening will not only benefit the long term patrons of the Morrison, but will also contribute to the vibrancy of this up-and-coming part of Dublin.”


As part of the refurbishment, all rooms have been refitted with flat screen televisions and integrated music systems. Guests will have access to a 24-hour business zone and split level fitness centre and wedding, conference and event space totalling 410 square metres. Up-lighting has also been installed to the façade along Ormond Quay.
