New Asian hotel brand, Explorar Hotels & Resorts, is set to open a new treehouse resort in 2024. Their latest signing is the second in the last five months, marking the new brand’s quick expansion.

Situated on Palawan Island in the Philippines, Explorar Treehouses El Nido will comprise 65 treehouse villas nestled within the lush mountain terrain, featuring private plunge pools and panoramic views stretching out to sea. Unlike a traditional reception area, The Exchange is reimagined as a social space with F&B offerings. Other amenities include a spa and wellness centre, providing a range of treatments using all-natural products.

As the resort will be conveniently located beside sister brand The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts’ property opening in 2022, guests will enjoy full access to their facilities, including an adventure park, water sports centre and unique dining experiences.

Alongside their team at Underwood Phuket, father- and- son design duo, John and Zac Underwood, will realise the resort’s unique treehouse concept using sustainable and upcycled materials to align with the Explorar brand’s ethos. Meanwhile, the on-site farm and gardens will adopt regenerative agricultural techniques to preserve the flourishing natural ecosystem that the resort is embedded within.

“We’re thrilled to be working with The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts group again on this new development,” comments developer Rick Lee, CEO of Eureka Resorts Inc. “Explorar Treehouses El Nido will be a unique offering for guests and complement The Pavilions El Nido Palawan Island, which is located next door.”

“I am excited by the uniqueness of this treehouse concept on Palawan island, which I believe will become an iconic El Nido resort,” adds Scot Toon, Managing Director Asia at The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts. “This continues our growth and the exciting development of our new brand in the region and shows that its’ experience-driven and social travel ethos is key in this new travel era we are in.”
