HBA Los Angeles designs The Dagny Boston

Hirsch Bedner Associates Los Angeles (HBA) has completed its latest hotel project in Downtown Boston as The Dagny Boston officially opens.

Originally known as the Batterymarch Building, the Art Deco building housing the hotel rose to prominence in 1928 as the city’s first skyscraper. Reimagined through a multi-million-dollar investment by DiamondRock Hospitality Company and renovation led by HBA, The Dagny is now a hotel comprising 377 guestrooms and 26 suites, each infused with Art Deco influences.

Communal spaces across the property maintain nods to its original design, with the lobby home to a longstanding Art Deco goldleaf mural of Greek mythology figure Atlas. The hotel’s unique character continues through its 15 meeting rooms and 9,000ft² of meeting space, while a 2,000ft² fitness centre also offers sweeping views of the city.

At the heart of The Dagny are two food and beverage venues. Tradesman Coffee Shop & Lounge transforms into a cocktail spot by night, while fine dining restaurant Fin Point Oyster Bar and Grille serves up seafood in a convivial environment. For those looking for a relaxed space without the buzz of dining, the hotel’s on-site library is also available.
