Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik reopens

Dubrovnik’s Hotel Excelsior has re-opened following the completion of an extensive refurbishment. Featuring exterior work by local architectural studio BF, and interiors by Franić-Šekoranja’s design studio, Adriatic Luxury Hotels’ flagship property has been revamped with the new design featuring in spaces including guestrooms, the lobby, restaurants and terrace bar.

158 redecorated guestrooms and suites, spread across both the original 1913 residential section (Villa Odak) and the more recent extension (The Tower), feature wooden floors, bespoke furniture, and a collection of curated details. Elsewhere, earthy tones of grey and walnut have been combined with shades of blue and green for a palette inspired by the hotel’s views of the peninsula, ocean and Old Town.

In the lobby, floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural daylight, where more warm wooden floors and bespoke furniture welcomes guests. New art and sculptures, created especially for Hotel Excelsior provide finishing touches.

The re-opening also sees a new addition to the property’s F&B offering with the launch of fine-dining restaurant Sensus, headed up by executive Chef Petar Obad, and serving up a seafood focused menu.

The hotel’s centrepiece, the Abakus Piano Bar, has also been given a makeover. Billed as the heart and soul of Hotel Excelsior, and featuring an expansive outdoor lounge terrace, the bar offers a relaxed atmosphere and refreshing beverages throughout the day.

With a prime location on Dubrovnik’s oceanfront, in close proximity to the ancient UNESCO heritage site, Hotel Excelsior looks forward to a busy summer and has expressed a commitment to retain its place as one Croatia’s leading luxury hotels.
