Hyatt Centric Cambridge opens its doors

Hyatt Centric has made its UK debut with a 150-key property in Cambridge, bringing Hyatt’s total hotels in the UK to 10.

Located in Eddington, a new sustainable neighbourhood just two miles from the heart of the city, the hotel is set around a central courtyard featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the social lobby with natural light. The contemporary design by Stirling Prize-winning dRMM is set against the city’s historic architecture, with interiors featuring wood finishes and vibrant artworks curated by AvroKO.

The guestrooms feature calming blues and warming mustard tones, decorated with rich walnut wood and Art Deco touches to create a sense of understated grandeur. 57 of the guestrooms offer views of the courtyard, 30 of which are deluxe rooms providing even more of a spacious stay.

The hotel offers four dining options, using local produce to create a diverse mix of cuisines. For on-the-go, KOTA’s coffee shop features a selection of artisan baked goods, fresh coffee roasted on site and a range of juices and smoothies. To dine, KOTA restaurant features Finnish charcoal cooking and community dining, creating a chargrilled evening menu complemented by fresh botanical cocktails; The Dutch offers classic cocktails with a twist alongside light bites and sharing platters, including a selection of British cheeses and antipasti; while the hotel’s roof terrace serves imaginative cocktails created by a team of mixologists and craft beers made by local breweries.

Additional facilities include a state-of-the-art fitness centre, a co-working area with free WiFi and a range of spaces available to hire catering to large events.

“We are excited for our guests to enjoy the hotel’s array of facilities including our distinct bar, restaurant and coffee shop, which offer savvy travellers share-worthy experiences,” comments Martin Newbould, General Manager of Hyatt Centric Cambridge. “Cambridge is one of the most iconic cities in the UK thanks to its magnificent architecture, university buildings and historic centre. The hotel’s location allows curious guests to make the most of what the destination has to offer.”
