Marriott celebrates Venice opening

To celebrate the grand opening of Venice Resort and Spa, JW Marriott hosted a two-day event on the private island of Isola delle Rose (Rose Island), where the hotel is located.

The resort offers 250 contemporary-styled guestrooms and suites, designed by architect Matteo Thun, with five distinct accommodation experiences available: the Hotel, La Residenza, La Masonette, L’Uliveto and Villa Rose. It also features four restaurants and four bars offering both international and local cuisine, plus the Sapori Cooking Academy and the largest spa in Venice. In addition, a rooftop lounge area with pool provides a 360-degree view over Venice and the Lagoon.

Venice Resort and Spa also provides a conference centre and 14 meeting spaces with the largest room having a capacity of 380 allowing for a range of events and conferences.

The island offers landscaped gardens and olive groves with a combination of tropical and Mediterranean plants as well as water sports opportunities and family activities.

The event saw 300 guests, including local Venetians, influencers and media representatives, visit the island to be taken on a journey exploring the traditions of Isola delle Rose and the other Venetian lagoon islands.

The first zone of the trail invited guests to immerse themselves in the customs of Isola delle Rose before moving on to the culinary delights of Sant’Erasmo. They then learnt about the art of lacemaking from Burano and glassmaking from Murano.

Renowned DJ, Rob da Bank, and a deconstructed orchestra featuring the premiere violinist Lizzie Ball and the Classical Kicks, curated the music.
