LW Design has revitalised the guestrooms and suites at Le Royal Méridien Club Tower in Dubai, creating lighter and softer spaces that resonate with the hotel’s luxurious beachside surroundings.

The new-look rooms have been refurbished in a way that keeps the overall aesthetic of the property’s main tower intact, with nautical touches added to subtly solidify that summer holiday feeling. Despite the limitations as far as creativity was concerned, the narrowed down criteria of soft, light, feminine and modern elements saved the designers a lot of time and helped them jump straight to the crux of the project.

The team decided to use lighter timber around the room to help reflect more natural light towards the centre. This accentuates some details while highlighting others, such as the natural rattan, which was among the materials used to provide a luxurious yet sustainable aesthetic. The rooms also feature subtle blush pink accents throughout for a feminine comfort, while white oak timber is contrasted with black metal to complement the blush pink and turquoise colours.

In bringing the spaces to life, LW made use of materials from a wide spectrum of suppliers. The timber effect tiles came courtesy of Mirage; the outdoor furniture and rattan ottomans were provided by Kettal and Kouboo respectively; and the decorative concrete planters were sourced from La Veranda. Most of the suites feature bespoke artworks curated by Artbeat too.

As with any project there were a few obstacles along the way. One physical challenge was the lack of space in the bathroom, which made it more difficult to achieve a lavish look and feel. However, with the help of a sliding door between the shower area and bathroom, LW was able to make the area feel more spacious and opulent without having to compromise too much.
