Marriott’s Moxy opens in Munich
Following its launch in 2014, Marriott’s millennial focused brand – Moxy Hotels – has debuted in Germany. Moxy Munich Airport is set to offer 252 tech-enabled guestrooms, vibrant lobby spaces and innovative design elements.
Moxy’s spirit is reflected within a fusion of bold design and affordable style, where communal engagement is at the centre of the experience. The interiors fuse refined and raw materials, organic and linear lines, and shared spaces, whilst Moxy’s boutique lobby relies on contemporary furniture that invites guests to relax, connect, and catch up with friends.
Every guestroom makes a statement, with a spirited floor to ceiling art piece creating the perfect blend of comfort and contemporary chic. Design elements are functional and uncluttered with simple, thoughtful touches including glass shelving, open closets and opulent mirrors; all blended with detailed spatial effects. Meanwhile, bathrooms feature Muk toiletries, bright pink hairdryers, power showers and a spacious vanity area.
Moxy Munich’s nine flexible meeting rooms are individually designed with natural daylight. Including ‘The Club’ stylishly decorated with a pristine professional edge and the overtly inspiring ‘Brain Box’, offering contemporary seating and thoughtful planning spaces with crisp, decorative touches, acutely blended to create a stylish and stimulating atmosphere.
“Moxy offers a new way of travelling where affordability is not a sacrifice of style, nor a loss of comfort,” says Amy McPherson, president and managing director of Marriott International, Europe. “At Moxy Munich, when we say less is more, we accentuate more. Not less.”
The hotel’s food and beverage strategy has been designed with the target audience in mind, with a 24/7 service concept offering plentiful options for food and drink. Further, cocktails, craft beers and specialty wines will be served in the evening.
Moxy Munich Airport is one of five Moxy Hotels planned to open in Europe in 2016, with additional properties located in Berlin and Eschborn in Germany and Aberdeen and London Royal Docks in the UK. Additionally, three new hotels are opening in the US this year including: Moxy Tempe, Arizona, opened March 4, 2016, Moxy New Orleans, Louisiana, in April 2016, and Moxy Nashville Downtown in October 2016.
