INNSiDE Apolo Barcelona

Meliá Hotels announces new Barcelona property

Meliá Hotels International has announced the opening of INNSiDE Apolo Barcelona, which comes following the group’s 2021 launch of ME Barcelona.

The property – which adds to INNSiDE by Meliá’s existing luxury portfolio – has been completed following an €8 million investment and extensive renovations, which have transformed it from Hotel Apolo to a new Meliá hotel focused on “bleisure”. Architectural design by Álvaro Sans Arquitectura Hotelera (ASAH) sees the hotel and its 314 rooms redesigned, all of which now feature contemporary, urban design as well as in-room amenities including eco-friendly bathroom products, yoga mats, Bluetooth speakers and wireless charging stations.

The renovation has especially focused on elevating the brand’s communal spaces, to facilitate both socialising and work for guests of INNSiDE Apolo Barcelona. The reception area for instance– envisioned as the hotel’s epicentre – has been transformed into an Open Living Lounge, a hallmark of all INNSiDE by Meliá hotels.

Following investment, the hotel has also introduced new restaurant concepts to bring extra life to the lobby, such as an informal bar and “grab and go” service at the Bite Box area. Meanwhile, INNSiDE Apolo Barcelona’s La Terraza Restaurant has been completely refurbished to create an open area where guests can enjoy an international buffet breakfast, or open-air dining in summer on the interior terrace.

The new INNSiDE by Meliá property seeks to cater especially to business travellers, offering up to 1,200m² of flexible meeting and event space, as well as a new coworking space named The Kitchen.
