Mount Cinnamon Beach Resort reveals first look at renovation plans

Caribbean hotel Mount Cinnamon Beach Resort has revealed first look renderings of its interiors following planned renovation.

The resort has employed local architect Irina Kostka to redesign its restaurant, bar, pool and lounge, with a brief to create spaces that both feel sophisticated and align with Caribbean culture.

Renovations will include the addition of a 360° bar, while the pool area will be enhanced with lounge styling and a floating stage for an increased entertainment programme. A new speciality coffee shop will also be introduced.

A sense of place will be embodied through bright colour accents on an otherwise neutral palette, as well as Grenadian and Caribbean artwork, much of which will celebrate farmers and suppliers.

“We are investing significant resources in this upgrade to Mount Cinnamon Beach Resort because of the confidence I have in the Grenada tourism industry,” says Barry Collymore, the resort’s owner. “I am very optimistic about the future of Grenada as a top Caribbean, luxury and family friendly destination.”

He continues: “The building is still almost in its original form from the 1980s and the focus for this project is to put a modern spin on the design, which will accentuate the character of the building rather than erase it. We want our guests to enjoy an authentic Caribbean experience and that will continue to come across in the new design and the warm, Grenadian character shared by the team. Sustainability and community are also very important to the resort and we are using local architects, contractors and many local materials where possible in the renovations. We are really excited about future!”
