New Hampton Inn opens in Yucatán

Mexico has announced the opening of Hampton Inn by Hilton, Merida, located in the largest city and capital of Mexico’s State of Yucatán. Continuing the hotel brand’s expansion in Mexico, the new build, 130-room hotel joins a portfolio of more than 2,000 Hampton by Hilton hotels.

Strategically located in the heart of the city’s business district, Hampton Inn by Hilton Merida is across the street from the Siglo XXI Convention Center, surrounded by many national and global company headquarters, as well as government offices.  The hotel is also near Paseo de Montejo North, a 19th century boulevard inspired by French designs similar to the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, lined with trees and mansions from the period. Known as ‘The White City’, the area offers dining, museums and colonial period architecture, blending Mayan ancestral times with Yucatán modern-day living.

Phil Cordell, Global Head of Focused Service and Hampton by Hilton Brand Management, Hilton Worldwide, says: “We are excited to bring Hamptonality to the historical and recreational city of Merida.” He continues: “We are focused on Hampton by Hilton’s continued expansion worldwide and this latest addition to our brand portfolio provides our guests a comfortable and convenient option in this beautiful city.”

Combining light colours and earthy tones, the new development includes various amenities, including a 24-hour fitness centre, 3,000sq2 of flexible event space across eight meeting rooms, and a 24-hour business centre. The hotel also features the Perfect Mix Lobby, designed as an extension of the guestroom with a variety of seating and lighting options for both leisure and business travellers. As with all Hampton by Hilton hotels, the Merida development is infused with local photography and artwork, highlighting the property’s connection to its own community.
