Nick Jones to receive EHDA accolade

Nick Jones, CEO and Founder of Soho House & Co has been named as the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Contribution Award at the European Hotel Design Awards.

Jones created the first Soho House private members club, which he dubbed a “home for creative souls”, in London’s Soho in 1995. Five further Houses have followed in London, four in North America and Canada, one in Berlin and, just this year, Soho House Istanbul, which comprises 87 guestrooms, three restaurants, rooftop pools, a screening room, a spa, hammams and a gym.

Having reinvented the country house hotel with the launch of Babington House in 1998, Jones’ most recent project is Soho Farmhouse, a 100-acre farm in Oxfordshire that has been re-cast as a rural retreat.

Jones has also been announced as the opening speaker at the Sleep Conference on 24th November where, in an exclusive conversation with his former business collaborator, Robin Hutson, he will share insights into his vision, as well as discussing expansion plans for the fast growing hospitality brand, which offers its members Houses encompassing restaurants, bars, cinemas, spas, event spaces and bedrooms in an increasingly diverse array of locations around the world.

The European Hotel Design Awards ceremony, Europe’s largest celebration of the best in hotel design, will be held on the evening of 23 November at The Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London. Sleep, Europe’s leading hotel design and development event, opens the following day at London’s Business Design Centre and runs through two days. It will combine concept room installations to inspire and intrigue, an exhibition showcasing some of the newest and most exciting products for the sector and the free-to-attend conference where designers, developers, architects and hotel consultants gather to exchange views and learn from the industry’s thought leaders.
