Nobu Hospitality has announced that its first site in Greece – Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Santorini – will open in Spring 2022, after the group entered a management agreement with MonteRock International.

Situated on the island’s northeast coast, the boutique will house a signature Nobu restaurant, full-service spa and fitness facility, as well as a dual-level infinity pool and five luxurious pool villas – all of which offer panoramic views of both the Caldera and Aegean Sea thanks to the hotel’s clifftop location in Imerovigli.

The property is also a 10-minute drive from the coastal town of Oia and 20 minutes from Thira International Airport, while the Oia-Fira hiking trail – which runs between Oia and Santorini’s capital – is nearby too.

“We are excited to be coming to Santorini and to work with the local community on this project,” says Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality. “Santorini is one of the most highly regarded destinations in the world with its rare beauty, distinctive cuisine, whitewashed architecture and dramatic sunsets. We look forward to inviting locals and international travellers alike to experience the Nobu lifestyle in this special destination.”

Alfredo Longo, CEO of MonteRock International, comments: “We are proud of the rock-solid collaboration we have had with Nobu brand throughout the years, and we are now more than delighted to expand together in the hospitality industry. In an incredible canvas like Santorini, the finest of what Nobu lifestyle and cuisine have to offer will be served in a picture-perfect setting, catering to every need at the highest standards.”

Adding to Nobu’s European portfolio, Nobu Santorini marks the group’s 26th hotel worldwide and tenth across the continent, with properties in Rome, San Sebastián and Hamburg also in the development stage.
