Puro Gdansk gets redesign
London-based interior practice DeSallesFlint has redesigned Puro Gdansk, adding an extension inspired by the city’s former grain warehouses.
Located at Granary Island, the hotel’s 211 guestrooms and nine suites comprise linens, wools, brass, iron and timber, alongside a bold colour palette that reflects Gdansk’s Old Town and shipyard.
Collaborating with its long-standing partners, the property’s interiors feature furniture from Carl Hansson & Son, Moroso, and Swiss brand Vitra. Lighting is the work of Foscarin, &Tradition and Buster & Punch, while fabrics from Golran 1898 complete guestrooms.
In the hotel’s public spaces, an eight-storey high atrium comprises a trademark collection of contemporary artworks, including a mural by Poland-based street artist Seikon. The lobby extends into multi-functional rooms, designed as meeting spaces and dining venues.
Additional facilities include a destination eatery, Dancing Anchor, which uses locally sourced ingredients within its seafood, pork and chicken dishes; Ink Above, a rooftop bar and terrace that affords views of the Old Town and marina skyline; and Prisma Spa, offering a range of treatments using products from Polish brand Alba1913.
Puro Hotels currently operates hotels in Krakow, Poznan and Gdansk, and has plans to expand its portfolio in Poland, pursuing collaborations with architects from DeSallesFlint and Conran & Partners in Warsaw, Kazimierz and Lodz.
