Red Cliffs Lodge Moab – a Marriott Bonvoy property and part of Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors – has announced the completion of an extensive renovation, transforming the property into a refined National Park-inspired retreat.
A gateway to the region’s Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, the lodge is situated on the banks of the Colorado River beneath the towering red cliffs of nearby mesas.
Taking place throughout 2025, the property-wide renovation was led by Sormeh Rienne for the public spaces and restaurant, with Atwater Inc Studio delivering the guestrooms and cabins.

The project included a completely redesigned lodge; a new signature restaurant and cocktail lounge, Ember; updates to 40 creekside and 39 riverfront suites; and an overhaul of 31 riverfront cabins as the final phase.
The reimagined lodge creates a spirited gathering place that invites the surrounding outdoor beauty in through floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Colorado River and a prominent display of the nearby red cliff mesas.
A central, double-sided fireplace anchors the lodge and offers a warm and inviting convivial space adjacent to the thoughtfully appointed cocktail lounge and Ember’s stylish, lofty dining room. Celebrating the spirit of a communal meal around a campfire, the restaurant serves fire-driven, modern American fare in an airy, elegant space.

“From the moment guests enter the lobby, the desert is present,” says Rienne. “When designing the public spaces of this hotel, I let the desert lead. Framed views, natural materials and a quiet palette rooted in the landscape creates a place that feels both expansive and grounded.”
Stina Funch, founder and creative director of Atwater Inc. Studio , adds: “Resting along the Colorado River, each guestroom looks out over moving water and glowing red rock – a setting that feels almost unreal in its beauty. The guestroom design was kept quiet and intentional, using natural materials and warmth to honour the landscape and invite guests to slow down and simply be present.”
