The One Barcelona opens doors
The One Barcelona, a new 5 star luxury establishment by H10 Hotels, has opened in the Ciutat Comtal. Marking the brand’s first urban 5 star hotel, it is located at the corner of Pau Claris and Provença, on the golden mile of modernist architecture.
The One Barcelona is the first hotel in H10’s new luxury-segment brand, and is set to become the company’s flagship in the city, featuring 89 guestrooms, the Somni Restaurant & Cocteleria, a terrace with panoramic views, and a Despacio Spa and Wellness Centre.
The architectural and interior design has been carried out by designer Jaime Beriestain. The building, occupying a typical chamfered corner in Barcelona’s Eixample district, has undergone extensive renovation on both its structure and copper, stone and glass façade. The interior design seeks to create a luxurious atmosphere based on fine quality materials including Jordanian marble and oak flooring.
Spacious floors are organised around a central interior glass-enclosed patio, which provides natural light to all corridors and public spaces. The 89 guestrooms, of which 25 are suites, have been designed to create a serene environment conducive to rest, whilst bright guestrooms are decorated predominantly in neutral tones, with a few golden details and paintings by Fernando Prats.
The Jaime Beriestain Studio has designed most of the furniture, however, some pieces have been designed and produced by other prestigious designers including Antonio Citterio, Gastone Rinaldi and Ray and Charles Eames.
The hotel’s top floor is home to the Mood leisure area, offering panoramic views of the city stretching as far as the sea. The terrace also boasts an area reserved for guests, featuring a plunge pool and solarium.
The Somni Restaurant & Cocteleria is located on the ground floor, with direct access from the street, headed up by chef Miguel Muñoz. Designed for hotel guests and locals alike, it offers Mediterranean cuisine with international nuances, combining tradition and innovation, with a commitment to high quality, locally produced ingredients. The space also includes a cocktail bar serving Mediterranean tapas and small dishes.
Lastly, The One Barcelona’s Despacio Spa, with its experience pool, Finnish sauna and two treatment rooms, provides a place to relax and unwind with local treatments, oils and essences.
