The Romeo Collection has announced its third hotel, Romeo Massa Lubrense, which is set to debut in May 2027.
The new destination emerges as an exclusive retreat suspended between architecture and nature. Designed by architect Kengo Kuma, Romeo Massa Lubrense establishes an escape centred around reclaimed time, privacy and deep connection to place.
Tucked away in a secluded natural reserve in Punta San Lorenzo, the closest point of the coastline to Capri, Romeo Massa Lubrense is built directly onto a private natural fjord.

Reimagined from the historic 1963 Hotel Delfino with a rigorous commitment to environmental restoration, Kuma maximises the property’s connection to its surroundings, creating a contemporary sanctuary that blends architecture and nature.
The design is rooted in Kuma’s philosophy of dissolving architecture into the landscape and the Japanese concept of Ma (間), that emptiness is not absence but a silent presence.

The design palette relies on warm, organic tones and natural Mediterranean materials, including local tuff, travertine, American walnut and matte ceramics. These materials, paired with transparency and the soft curves Kuma is known for, ensure the architecture achieves a sense of ‘visual subtraction’, relieved of clutter.
The boundaries of the 63 rooms and suites dissolve entirely with true indoor-outdoor living, with the view over the Gulf blurring the separation between infinity pool and sea, and a minimalistic design bound by the natural surroundings that ensures the property becomes one with the sea, light, and nature that define the cliffside.

“Our vision for The Romeo Collection has always been to create experiences driven by their destinations, and Massa Lubrense captures the authentic, slow-living spirit of the Italian coast like nowhere else,” says Alfredo Romeo, founder of The Romeo Collection. “I am thrilled to soon share this project, which will marry a rare, dramatic natural landscape with unparalleled design and hospitality. We are creating an ultra-exclusive retreat that I believe will truly redefine the luxury resort experience in Italy.”
