Thompson Hotels will open its first Andalusian outpost in late 2026 in the heart of Seville’s historic centre.
Billed as a gathering place for both travellers and locals, Thompson Seville will blend design, culture, gastronomy and a contemporary hotel experience while honouring the city’s history, traditions and character.
Set within the La Gavidia building, which was originally designed by Ramón Montserrat Ballesté and closely associated with Seville’s Modern Movement, a thoughtful transformation led by design studio Proyecto Singular will deliver a hotel that preserves the building’s architectural character while bringing new energy to the historic centre.

Inside, Thompson Seville’s 101 guestrooms and suites combine warm materials, natural textures, artisanal finishes and subtle references to Andalusian identity, creating spaces that feel both contemporary and deeply connected to their surroundings.
Accommodations will range from city-view guestrooms and terrace suites to the Thompson Suite, a spacious retreat with a private terrace and sweeping views of the city. Guestrooms and suites have been designed to offer a residential atmosphere where contemporary design meets refined local details. The guest experience will be complemented by a rooftop fitness centre overlooking the city, offering a unique perspective across Seville’s skyline.

Gastronomy will be one of the defining elements of Thompson Seville. The hotel will feature a dining concept developed with Grupo Manolo Mayo, one of Seville’s most respected restaurant groups, known for its dedication to Andalusian cuisine, seasonal ingredients and a deep respect for local culinary traditions.
Local restaurant Mayo Sevilla will close its existing location to reopen inside the hotel under the name Casa Mayo, with an interior design scheme created by architect Pablo Baruc that results in a warm, contemporary space where ingredients and craftsmanship take centre stage.
Dining and drinks will unfold across several spaces throughout the hotel. On the ground floor, the Lobby Bar will serve as an all-day gathering place for guests, travellers and locals alike, while the Rooftop Pool Deck & Bar will feature a pool, lounge area and a light menu designed for daytime enjoyment and sunset gatherings.

Thompson Seville will also offer 240m² of event and meeting spaces on the ground floor, designed to accommodate a variety of formats – from corporate meetings and presentations to social celebrations and weddings. The area includes four independent rooms with the option to connect them, integrated audiovisual equipment and an additional interior patio, allowing for flexible configurations in the heart of Seville.
“Seville is one of those cities that leaves a lasting impression on you. It has an incredible mix of history, culture, creativity, and energy, and that’s exactly the kind of destination where Thompson belongs,” says Amar Lalvani, President & Creative Director, The Lifestyle Group, Hyatt. “For us, the goal was never to bring a Thompson template to Seville, but to create a hotel that could only exist in Seville. From the restoration of La Gavidia to the local partnerships and experiences, this hotel is rooted in the spirit of the city while delivering the sophisticated, social atmosphere that defines Thompson.”
