Travelodge acquires Holiday Inn Express Hotel

Travelodge has taken a lease to operate the Holiday Inn Express hotel at Liverpool John Lennon Airport from Peel Land and Property Group. The hotel now trades as Travelodge Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The property has 100 guestrooms, a bar café, three meeting rooms and on-site parking and is situated minutes from the airport. Travelodge has been granted a 25-year lease, and is also investing to convert the hotel according to the company’s new, contemporary brand design. The investment includes upgrading all guestrooms with the next generation of the company’s signature room design, which has been designed by customers. The new layout replaces all beds with bespoke, luxurious king-size Travelodge Dreamer beds – adding single beds into family rooms for children – and sees new bedside USB charging points, a Samsung 32-inch digital TV and soft LED lighting for a warm, cosy feel.

The hotel’s restaurant will also undergo refurbishment, and a modern bar café is set to be installed. The refurbishment is expected to reach completion by the end of 2017, and the hotel will operate as normal during the works.

Tony O’Brien, Property Director at Travelodge comments: “We are delighted to have secured our 14th hotel in Merseyside at the prestigious location, Liverpool John Lennon Airport. The local economy is growing at pace and with increasing visitor numbers to the area, there is a big shortage of good quality accommodation at a great value price. With our new airport hotel, we are offering unbeatable value at all the key business and leisure points across the city.”
