SH Hotels & Resorts is set to open Treehouse Manchester in Q1 of 2023, marking the second property in the UK for the brand.

Located in the city centre close to Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and the Manchester Arena on Blackfriars Street, the property will comprise 216 rooms, three F&B spaces and a screening room, as well as multiple event venues and a gym.

Designed in collaboration with UK-based firm 93ft, the building features an organic aesthetic with thoughtful design details as well as connections to the local community including hopscotch carpets, stepping-stones in lift lobbies and custom-designed space hoppers in the gym. Guests will also be invited to carve their stories into a central living wooden art piece that will grow over time.

Amongst the new dining experiences meanwhile are a 13th floor restaurant and 14th floor bar designed by Blacksheep. Both will be operated by famed DJs and hospitality duo Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford, with chef Sam Grainger behind an elevated Southeast Asian menu. On the ground floor meanwhile, a zero-waste restaurant is set to be run by Mary-Ellen McTague along with celebrated local chefs.

Rooted in sustainability, the hotel will incorporate energy and carbon savings along with extensive use of reclaimed and recycled materials in the construction of the building and furniture. It will also promote biophilia through the introduction of roof gardens, living green walls and a kitchen garden harvesting rainwater, with honey produced by its very own rooftop apiary.
