Tri Sri Lanka to open Summer 2015

Opening in the summer of 2015, Tri is a whorl of geometric ingenuity and beauty, Sri Lanka’s first truly contemporary, sustainable luxury design hotel.

Tri consists of 10 sustainable, luxury design rooms in a hillside haven on the banks of Sri Lanka’s Lake Koggala. The project features eight suites nestled into the landscape, three of which have private pools. A further two are dramatically elevated on the top deck of the central water tower. Guests will have exclusive access to Tri’s own Beach Club & Restaurant on Kabalana Beach, combining peaceful lakeside living with the nearby beach.

The project was evolved by Sri Lanka based British photographer and entrepreneur Robert Drummond, and wife Laura Baumann, founder of Quantum Yoga. The ingenious design of Tri was inspired by the spirals of the Fibonacci Sequence, and masterminded by award-winning architect Raefer Wallis of A00 Architects.

The hotel will also feature a spectacular 21m cantilevered pool with multiple decks and terraces, 360-degree summit viewing deck, library, study and entertainment room. A dining room with both communal and private seating is available, presenting a contemporary and organic approach to Sri Lanka’s finest elements of food, services, facilities and experiences.

A tree-top Yoga Shala is available, with treatment rooms and steam cavern and wellness retreats programmed throughout the year. Mirroring nature’s Golden Ratio, the ten unique suites spiral around an island hill flanking Sri Lanka’s Lake Koggala. Living walls, green roofs, solar arrays, recycled wood and entirely local materials unify the accommodations and landscape.

Guided by nature, evolved by aesthete individuals and fortified by an all-encompassing sustainable philosophy, Tri is a masterpiece of forward-thinking flair, where mathematical marries artistic, and intelligence embraces emotion.
