Hilton has unveiled the Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique, expanding the group’s luxury portfolio in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Situated along the shores of Playa Penca on Punta Cacique, the 188-room resort provides a refined haven with views of Costa Rica’s Northern Pacific Coast.
The resort design draws inspiration from its setting, with the architecture terraced within the natural contours of the cliffside it is perched upon, capturing panoramic vistas including sunset views over the Pacific.
With 148 guestrooms and 40 suites to take in these sights, the interiors are modern and refined, using earthy tones that blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings. Spacious terraces and balconies invite the outdoors in, creating a serene and effortless connection with nature.
Furthermore, each suite has been thoughtfully designed for privacy and comfort and comes equipped with generous living areas and private terraces or rooftops, 22 of which feature private plunge pools.
Native flora incorporated into the resort’s landscape design conserves water and gradually envelops the structures, fostering a deep connection with the surrounding environment. Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos of Mexico City crafted indoor and outdoor spaces to flow together, intentionally integrating into natural site contours and featuring living rooftops to mitigate heat and enhance sustainability.
The overarching resort design crafts a unique guest journey, starting at the arrival building reception and terrace bar, before pathways guide guests organically to their rooms and the vibrant public area known as Poblado, featuring exquisite dining venues and the iconic Waldorf Astoria Clock. The journey continues through a cascading sequence of pools and waterfalls, culminating in an elevated path that leads to a beach lounge and the sunset rooftop.
In addition to six regionally-inspired dining experiences, a multi-level pool and a 17,000ft2 state-of-the-art spa and fitness centre, the resort is also home to 10,000ft2 of versatile and distinct meeting and event spaces that feature ocean views and verdant greenery.
