An exterior rendering of Waldorf Astoria in Sydney, Australia

Waldorf Astoria to debut in Australia in 2025

Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts has announced its expansion into the Australian market with the signing of Waldorf Astoria Sydney, opening its doors within mixed-use development AW One Circular Quay in 2025.

Construction has commenced on the 28-floor, 220-key property, with Tokyo-based firm Kengo Kuma & Associates and Sydney-based Crone Architects overseeing the architecture. Inside, 179 guestrooms and 41 suites will exude a sense of lightness and calm, while impressive public spaces include a spa on level one.

The F&B programme meanwhile will celebrate the city’s gastronomic heritage with two restaurant concepts, as well as a rooftop bar offering views of the Sydney Harbour. Peacock Alley, a signature space for Waldorf Astoria properties worldwide, will also serve as a central gathering place and feature the brand’s iconic clock.

“This marks a significant milestone in the growth of our luxury portfolio,” says Guy Phillips, Senior VP of Development for Asia and Australasia at Hilton. “The introduction of Waldorf Astoria to Sydney underscores our development strategy of organically bringing our brands to discerning travellers in key global markets.”

Waldorf Astoria Sydney joins an existing portfolio of 29 operating and 12 pipeline Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Curio Collection by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn hotels across Australasia.
