Boutique lifestyle aparthotel brand Wilde has announced new openings in Amsterdam and Porto.
Marking its second property in Portugal, Wilde Porto has opened its doors between Rue De la Galeria de Paris and Praça Guilherme Gomes, featuring 78 contemporary studios and apartments with options for two, three or four guests in the heart of the city’s dining, music, and nightlife district.
Set within a stretch of elegant townhouses, the property sits among historic façades housing cafés, bakeries and cocktail bars and which open onto squares featuring independent boutiques, art galleries and museums.
Interior design by Stephanie Barba Mendoza bridges the gap between old and new, honouring 14th century Portuguese craftsmanship and the city’s rich maritime history through a contemporary lens. This vision is brought to life through hand-painted tiles and ceramics paired with bespoke furniture and lighting commissioned from local craftsmen to honour the city’s artisanal heritage.
Highlights include wall murals handpainted across tiles by local makers New Terracotta in the cafe and bathrooms; a statement lacquer table with studded detailing and indoor-outdoor chairs from Mexican-based Casamidy; and bespoke wallpaper by British artist Anna Glover.
The hotel’s F&B offer includes Oscar’s, a welcoming dining space accented by tonal tiles and earthy marble counters; O’s Above, an inviting rooftop destination defined by a red and white striped bar overlooking Porto’s historic skyline; and O’s Below, which transforms from morning to midnight as a street-level café come late-night bar.
Meanwhile, Wilde Amsterdam – set to open in September 2026 – will span eight floors and offer 120 spacious, design-led studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments overlooking the IJ River.
Set within the new Yvie residential development in the creative, post-industrial borough of Amsterdam Noord, the property marks the first in Wilde’s portfolio that has been designed expressly as a true extended-stay destination.
Here, Stephanie Barba Mendoza’s interiors reflect the district’s artistic spirit and creative energy against the backdrop of sweeping waterfront views. Refined yet tactile finishes of leather, timber, marble lacquer and brass create warmth and depth across each space, custom-crafted furniture from leather-backed chairs to custom joinery offers point of interest, whilst thoughtful details such as a large hand-painted mural and lampshades in the lobby by Dutch artist Lisette van Hoogenhuyze blend to craft an environment that feels both considered yet familiar.
