Opening in September 2025, Wilderness Magashi Peninsula is an exclusive, eight-bed camp situated in Akagera National Park, Rwanda.

Set against the backdrop of Lake Rwanyakazinga and the Mutumba Mountains, the camp will feature a four-bed villa, with two additional twin rooms, all located 200m apart. The versatile villa also features an additional en-suite room that can be adapted as a gym, children’s room or office, providing a comfortable stay for up to six guests.

Inspired by Rwandan culture, the interiors incorporate locally sourced materials and design elements, combining elements of modern luxury, cultural inspiration and the natural surroundings. The layout has been thoughtfully considered to ensure privacy for guests, with the rooms spaced generously apart to create a sense of remoteness.

The camp’s central main area includes dining and lounge spaces, as well as a swimming pool, gym and wellness facilities.

All rooms feature star beds for stargazing or sleeping under the stars with unobstructed views of the night sky and surroundings, and have been positioned carefully to have viewing opportunities of the resident wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and elephants.

The villa is fully powered by solar energy and has been designed to minimise environmental impact, ensuring an eco-friendly infrastructure that aligns with Wilderness’ commitment to sustainability and responsible tourism
