Wyndham Hotel Group signs first Wyndham Garden in Middle East

Slated for a 2017 opening, the new construction will become the second Wyndham property in Qatar, following the opening of the Wyndham Grand Regency Doha in 2011.

“Wyndham Garden Doha will be a strategic addition to our portfolio in the Middle East,” commented Rui Barros, Senior Vice President and Managing Director Europe, Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean for Wyndham Hotel Group. “With its bustling business district and nearby airport contributing to a significant increase in travellers, Doha is the ideal market for the region’s first Garden hotel. The property will be a dependable alternative to the city’s luxury offerings that delivers the comfort and amenities expected from the brand.”

The hotel will join several properties currently under development in the Middle East, including the Wyndham Dubai Marina and Wyndham Grand Manama, which are expected to open in 2015, and Wyndham Grand Riyadh, expected to open in 2016.

The Wyndham Garden Doha will be situated in the business district of downtown Doha, near tourist attractions such as Souq Waqif, Doha’s open air market and the Museum of Islamic Art. The 153-room hotel will offer flexible meeting space, as well as a fitness centre and pool facilities. Additional services and amenities include shuttle service for the nearby Doha International Airport, free parking and complimentary guest WiFi.

“We are very keen to open the hotel and look forward to working together with Wyndham Hotel Group on this venture,” commented Nasser Al Siddiqi, Managing Director and board member of Al Siddiqi Holding. “This is just one of numerous ventures in the hotel industry and we are confident of its success, especially with the FIFA World Cup 2022. We are certain that this is a sound investment with a strong future ahead in Qatar.”
