Hotel Byblos Saint-Tropez has launched eight new suites, resuming its collaboration with Paris-based interior designer Laura Gonzalez.
Following the four original suites introduced in 2024, the new collection presents a fifth colour palette, centred on shades of blue inspired by the Mediterranean. Each suite offers a different aesthetic, in keeping with the designer’s approach to create each space as a unique sanctuary.
Natural materials, soft coastal tones and handcrafted details have been used to shape interiors that feel composed and expressive. Patinated wood, woven fibres, rope and light sand hues temper the depth of the blue palette, creating spaces that are elegant and closely connected to their natural surroundings.
Bespoke elements including ceramic minibars, marquetry doors and custom joinery sit alongside artisan pieces and carefully selected vintage objects, reinforcing the individuality of each suite. References to Mediterranean craftmanship, including influences inspired by the works of Roger Capron, echo the hotel’s long-standing artistic heritage and its ties to the region’s creative history.
The new rooms represent a natural evolution of Byblos’ approach to design where continuity and renewal co-exist. “What makes Byblos special is that every stay offers a different experience, while always retaining a familiar sense of belonging,” comments Antoine Chevanne, Owner of Hotel Byblos. “Some guests return to the same room year after year, others choose to discover a new space. Our continued collaboration with Laura Gonzalez reflects this philosophy: each room is conceived as a distinct environment, shaped by the designer’s vision, while remaining anchored in the identity and spirit of Byblos.”
Reflecting on the latest phase of the project, Laura Gonzalez adds: “In the suites at Byblos, I was interested in creating a feeling rather than a style. Something light, luminous and instinctive. The history of the place is always present – its energy and memories – but I wanted to introduce a more intimate softness, evoking the idea of a summer house one returns to year after year. Each suite is conceived as a lived in refuge, where light moves freely, colours breathe and guests feel instantly at ease. A joyful simplicity, deeply Mediterranean.”
