An apartment at Aparthotel Adagio London Stratford

Adagio launches second property in London

Adagio has opened Aparthotel Adagio London Stratford, its second extended stay property in the UK capital.

Located in the heart of the East End, the newbuild combines round-the-clock service with the flexibility and freedom of 136 self-catering apartments. The newly furnished accommodations comprise 100 two-person studios and 36 flats designed for up to four people, all of which include a fully equipped kitchen.

Each apartment features the brand’s new ‘Urban Nest’ concept, which aims to create a contemporary and functional design. The property will also serve as a pilot site for Adagio’s recently unveiled Digital Room Directory, where all resident enquiries can be answered by scanning a QR Code, meaning no more paper.

The aparthotel’s architecture is inspired by the industrial heritage of Stratford, with materials and detailing redolent of its railways, while its interiors permeate a recognition of the area’s legacy. A youthful optimism was also built into the scheme to reflect its rejuvenation and the arrival of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

In addition to The Circle – a shared living space where guests can work or socialise – services offered include the use of a private gym, a small on-site convenience store, a library of objects and several parking spaces.

“Stratford is fast becoming one of the UK’s most dynamic metropolitan districts, having undergone an extensive regeneration over the last 10+ years,” says Managing Director Karim Malak. “We are so excited to be opening our second London property in such a vibrant and diverse area and hope this demonstrates our commitment to expanding our brand within Great Britain, with lots more UK openings on the horizon.”

Damien Lerchundi, Area General Manager, UK & Ireland for Adagio, comments: “The last year or so has been a hugely challenging time for any business, let alone a new opening! Despite the challenges we’ve faced, we are hugely optimistic that both business and leisure will bounce back. We are absolutely thrilled to be able to create new jobs in London at a time when hospitality is struggling. Our new team are a passionate and diverse group of individuals who cannot wait to start welcoming guests and provide the upmost experience.”

Stratford is the sixth UK hotel for Adagio, following launches in Brentford, Leicester, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Liverpool. There are further sites planned in London too, with an opening in Sutton set for this summer.
