French architecture and interior design firm AW² has envisioned a hotel on the edge of the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit.
Slated to open in 2027, the project is spearheaded by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, creator and organiser of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Positioned at the Esses de la Forêt turn, the hotel will offer an immersive experience for motorsport enthusiasts and visitors attending special events, featuring 104 rooms and suites, a restaurant and a large panoramic terrace overlooking the Bugatti circuit and the 24 Hours of Le Mans track.
The guestrooms, in ochre and deep red tones, feature materials such as wood, leather, and metal, all chosen to provide a sense of comfort and luxury, while the minibars, designed to evoke car bodywork, add a vibrant touch of colour to the space. The suites offer an exclusive experience, with direct views of the circuit and a refined design that blends intensity with sophistication.
Inspired by the circuit’s grandstands, the hotel’s architecture has been conceived to offer breathtaking views of the track. Consisting of two volumes, the main building houses the rooms and suites with balconies, a VIP area, a bar and a large terrace overlooking the track, while a second building includes a ground-floor lobby, the restaurant, and a stepped roof for spectators to watch the races.
Designed as a landmark, the building’s refined and eco-friendly design blends into the landscape, with sustainable architecture that emphasises ecological materials and harmonious integration into the environment. Locally-sourced FSC-certified wood and low-carbon Exegy concrete will help reduce the building’s environmental footprint while ensuring high performance in terms of sustainability.
Further sustainable solutions include wooden mesh façades, solar protection systems, and dual-flow ventilation, which will ensure the hotel’s energy performance exceeds current standards by 20% while enhancing the building’s natural and aesthetic character.
Developed by ADIM Ouest, the real estate development subsidiary of VINCI Construction, and backed by the private investment company Virage 5, the hotel will open in time for the 2027 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
