Hotel Montera Madrid, Curio Collection by Hilton has opened its doors to guests, marking the brand’s debut in the Spanish capital. The hotel’s design has been crafted to reflect Madrid’s culture and heritage, seeking to provide guests with an authentic Spanish stay in the heart of the city.

Set in a remodelled neoclassical building which dates back to 1924, the interiors of Hotel Montera Madrid, Curio Collection By Hilton have been renovated, with design courtesy of Lázaro Rosa-Violán. Inspired by the area’s eclectic character, the 93-key hotel’s design fuses contemporary styling with a relaxed ambience.

With the hotel located on a street named ‘Montera’ – a reference to a traditional Spanish hat style – the clothing piece is a recurring theme throughout the hotel’s design language, featured in artwork across the property, in each room’s valet stand and on door handles and headboards in guestrooms.

Guestrooms have been designed to embody traditional Castilian design with modern twists. Neutral tones, rounded mirrors and picture frames, and delicate trimmings on headboards, for instance, allude to old Spanish decorative style.
