Hotel Lürzerhof has reopened following an extensive EUR€10 million transformation, unveiling an adults-only rooftop wellness sanctuary amidst the Radstädter Tauern mountains.
Representing the most ambitious development in the resort’s history, the expansion adds a new fourth and fifth floor, and has been brought to life by Salzburg-based interior architects Köck + Bachler.
Dedicated to luxury accommodation, the new fourth floor features six luxury suites and two additional rooms, increasing the resort’s accommodation offering to 68 rooms and suites. The new accommodation is designed in a contemporary alpine style, combining floor-to-ceiling mountain views, expansive terraces and spa-inspired interiors. Selected Sky Suites feature private panorama saunas, outdoor whirlpools and dedicated wellness spaces, creating an elevated mountain retreat.
Above, the new fifth floor, dedicated to adults-only wellness, spans approximately 900m² and is centred around a spectacular 20m cantilevered outdoor infinity pool that appears to float above the alpine landscape.
Designed as a place of calm and restoration, the new wellness level includes a Finnish Panorama Sauna, Organic Panorama Sauna, Infrared Salt Dome, Aroma Steam Bath, two panoramic relaxation rooms and a dedicated tea lounge. A striking glass atrium flooded with natural light creates a tranquil focal point at the heart of the space.
The transformation also extends to the resort’s existing spa facilities, with a redesigned wellness reception and lounge, two additional treatment rooms and a collection of new signature spa rituals. The completed development brings Hotel Lürzerhof’s spa facilities to 4,500m².
While wellness is at the heart of the expansion, sustainability remains central to the Lürzerhof philosophy. The climate-positive resort generates more than ten times its own energy requirements through its private hydroelectric power plant and operates entirely without fossil fuels through a combination of biomass heating and renewable energy systems. The new development incorporates green roofs, energy efficient glazing and materials selected for their minimal environmental impact.
“It is wonderful to have the hotel open again and to see guests enjoying the new spaces for the first time,” says owner Christina Habersatter. “The mountain views have always been one of the things people love most about Lürzerhof, so we wanted to make them central to the new design. Whether guests are swimming in the rooftop pool, relaxing in the panorama sauna or spending time on the terrace of a Sky Suite, the mountains are always present.
“This has been the largest development in the hotel’s history, but it was very important to us that Lürzerhof should still feel like Lürzerhof. We have added a great deal, but the warmth, personal service and close relationship with our surroundings remain exactly the same.”
