Blue Flag Capital, in partnership with in-house management company Collared Martin Hospitality, has announced the opening of Oyster Estate, a reimagined 34-key boutique hotel in the heart of Greenport Village.

A thoughtful transformation of the former Greenporter Hotel, a longtime fixture in the community, Oyster Estate retains the existing structure while completely refining the guest experience. Guestrooms, bathrooms, public spaces, the central courtyard and pool, and food and beverage have all been transformed to create a property that honors what came before while offering a fresh perspective on hospitality in Greenport.

Designed by Blue Flag in collaboration with Islyn Studio, Oyster Estate draws inspiration from the historic bay houses found along the Long Island coast and the surrounding landscape. Interiors are intentionally layered and material-driven, with wood used throughout as framing, furniture, enclosure and built-ins that anchor the spaces and create a sense of permanence. The colour palette is drawn from the nearby shoreline, with clay tones, weathered greens and salt-softened stone, while flowers gathered throughout Greenport are dried and pressed into lobby tiles. A hay plaster ceiling recalls the surrounding salt marshes, and ceramics sourced from a local maker further integrate the community and landscape into the design.

The hotel’s common spaces unfold as a series of lived-in rooms rather than a singular lobby, with seating arranged to accommodate both gatherings and quieter moments. Books, found local objects and plant life are layered throughout to create a residential feeling, while the reimagined courtyard, patio and outdoor pool serve as Oyster Estate’s social heart. Thoughtful in-room touches include Parachute Home linens and robes, Salt & Stone bath amenities, Tivoli Bluetooth speakers, in-room minibars and minifridges, Fellow tea kettles and complimentary coffee and tea.

Opening later in September, Fortune Favors is the hotel’s signature cocktail bar, listening room and culinary destination, serving as a vibrant counterpoint to the calm of the guest spaces, where richly layered colourful interiors, saturated colours and low, atmospheric lighting create a sense of intimacy and movement. Inspired by the spirit of an artist’s workshop and gathering place, Fortune Favors pairs beloved Asian-inspired dishes expressed through a Greenport lens with a dynamic cocktail program. Designed as a multisensory gathering place, Fortune Favors includes a dedicated Listening Room where spinning vinyls and a sound system designed specifically for the space bring music into dialogue with the restaurant’s food, cocktails and interiors.

“Oyster Estate represents exactly what we look for at Blue Flag: a property with an established history in a destination that has a very clear identity of its own,” says Jason Brown, co-founder and CEO of Blue Flag Capital. “Our goal was to understand what makes the North Fork special and create something that feels genuinely connected to how people live, gather and travel here today.”

“We approached the Greenporter with a lot of respect for its history and the role it has played in the community, while recognising the opportunity to evolve it into something entirely new,” adds Brad Guidi, co-founder and Chief Development Officer of Blue Flag Capital. “The bones of the property remain, but nearly every aspect of the guest experience was reimagined, drawing inspiration from Greenport’s maritime heritage and creative spirit to create something that feels distinctly rooted in the North Fork.”

Oyster Estate marks Blue Flag Capital and Collared Martin Hospitality’s third hotel opening on Long Island’s East End in 2026 and the latest in a broader summer of growth for the company. Earlier this season, Blue Flag debuted Hotel Corduroy in Montauk and Faraway Sag Harbor on the Sag Harbor waterfront, while also expanding west with the opening of Faraway Jackson Hole in Teton Village, Wyoming. Together, Hotel Corduroy, Faraway Sag Harbor, and Oyster Estate establish a growing East End presence for Blue Flag, while Faraway Jackson Hole extends the company’s portfolio into one of the country’s premiere mountain destinations.
