The Pavilions Rome in Italy

The Pavilions to open third Rome hotel in July

The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts will open its third hotel in Rome this July with The Pavilions Rome, The First Musica. Housed in a mid-century building originally designed by architect Mario Docci and now renovated by Studio Marincola, the boutique joins sister properties The First Arte and The First Dolce to complete a trio of resorts in the city. Collectively dubbed The First Roma, the three blend la dolce vita with Roman culture.

Overlooking the Tiber River, The First Musica comprises a modern mesh and concrete façade in natural brass tones that pays homage to Richard Meier’s Museo dell’Ara Pacis on the opposite riverbank. Inside, materials like Loro Piana fabrics and Calacatta marble conjure a calming ambience. Each of the 24 guestrooms and suites features floor-to-ceiling windows, dark boiserie on the walls, brass accents – from the bathroom fixtures to Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance wireless speakers – and large format modern artworks.

Serving up curated cocktails, fine wines and Italian and international cuisine, accompanied by special live music events and DJ sets, the six- and seventh-floor Alto rooftop bar commands sweeping views of Rome’s historic cityscape. From an equally showstopping fifth-floor vantage point, sophisticated Italian restaurant Oliva offers a menu of reinterpreted Roman and regional classics in its indoor and outdoor dining spaces.

And below street level, a subterranean spa – set to launch in September 2022 – features an indoor pool and wellness area with two treatment rooms for massages and beauty sessions exclusively for staying guests.

With the opening of The Pavilions Rome, The First Musica, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts now has 11 owned or managed hotels and resorts in operation across Asia and Europe, with a further two sites in the pipeline.
