LA typically has a number of eye-catching projects in the works, and that’s certainly the case at present, with a surge in hotel construction set to bring a flurry of new hotels to the Californian city in the coming years.
Tophotelprojects currently has 37 projects, totalling 7,936 rooms, listed in its database in planning or under construction. According to the data service, nine of the total pipeline projects will open this year, 12 are slated for 2022, and seven will arrive in 2023. There’s also two projects scheduled for 2028 and a further seven TBA.
The region’s fastest growing hotel brand is The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, which intends to open three boutique properties totalling 192 rooms, while Hyatt Centric and citizenM also have plans for two outposts respectively. The largest project in the pipeline however is the JW Marriott Hotel Los Angeles at L.A. Live, which is currently undergoing a 755-room extension. The new hotel tower will be directly connected to an existing site, as well as The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles, by a bridge across the trendy Olympic Boulevard.
Featured below are just a few of the key properties set to grace The City of Angels’ streets over the next decade.
