Adagio appoints Xavier Desaulles as CEO

European aparthotel brand Adagio has announced appointment of Xavier Desaulles as its new CEO. In his new position, Desaulles will be in charge of the group’s global development strategy and modernisation goals.

Desaulles joins Adagio from Club Med, where he spent the last six years as CEO of East South Asia & Pacific in the Singapore office, before taking over as CEO for the China and Asia Pacific markets, based in Shanghai.

His career began at Rémy Cointreau Group, where he spent 14 years as Marketing Director for Remy Martin and Louis XIII, before becoming Managing Director for South East Asia, India and the Middle East.

Accor and Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs, the shareholders of the Adagio joint venture, have placed their full confidence in Desaulles and are counting on his strategic vision and experience to drive the expansion of the aparthotel network in Europe and new markets. The group is also determined to consolidate its position as an innovator by developing new products like co-living and offers adapted to the new lifestyles of commuters.

“With ten new openings planned this year, including Glasgow, Hamburg and Rome, 2022 promises to be full of new projects,” says Desaulles. “My ambition is to develop the brand responsibly and with commitment, and to strengthen our position as the European market leader in the aparthotel sector. These developments will allow us to meet the economic, social and environmental challenges of our urban environment.”
